Escaping Enlightenment?

Why would you want to escape enlightenment?  People search their entire lives to find it.

True, but I see this as part of the problem.  I’ve spoken to many who think that ‘enlightenment’ will be found at the edge of a cliff in some obscure country that nobody could find on a map.  I don’t think it will; I think ‘enlightnment’ is found when you accept yourself for who/what you are.  That happens no matter where you’re at.  Not everyone has the luxury of spending 20 years at a Buddhist monestary somewhere; some of us have to try to find peace in Miami.

That’s great.  But what about this website?  Why escapingenlightenment.com

I thought it would be funny.  But perhaps I can use this website to help myself find enlightenment while working two jobs, being a husband, and being a father.

Yeah, I threw that in there.  I’m proud of myself.

But seriously; I spent so much time reading every blog I could find about finding peace, being productive, getting rid of your crap, etc. that I didn’t leave any time to actually do these things.  My hope is that I can use this website to not only help you, but to give some perspective on myself in the long-run.

So how often will you update?

When I’m able to.  Don’t expect daily updates; but at least once per week.  I hope I can find time to update more frequently, but my goal is to have at least weekly updates.

How can I get in touch with you if I need something?

Check out the “contact” page for links on the various social networks that I frequent, as well as IM contact information and form to send me an email.
